For over 100 years the New Hartford Fire Department has been serving the community with the very latest in fire equipment and emergency medical technicians.In 2011, the department answered a record setting 1,383 calls in 2011. The call breakdown is as follows: 38 fire calls, 882 EMS calls, 57 hazardous conditions, 208 service calls, 41 good intent and 157 false alarms. This amounts to 12,093 hours for calls and other department activities and more than 2,725 training hours.
